Regional Development, Novice White, Novice Blue Learn to Compete Blue, Learn to Compete White and Learn to Compete Intro.
What is a development meet?
These meets are designed to introduce our swimmers to a safe environment where they can learn, race and achieve their goals. Swimmers will have 2-3 races as chosen by their coach throughout the morning. This is designed to expose the swimmers to racing opportunities while not overwhelming them in the learning process.
What to expect at the meet
The swimmers will run through a full dryland activation, pool warmup and racing. Swimmers will learn the skills of how a meet runs and how to properly prepare for their swims throughout the meet. Coaches will explain the steps as the morning goes and will guide the swimmers so they understand and feel confident throughout.
Why should my swimmer attend?
DSSC is a competitive swim club and swimmers are invited to attend swim meets based on their level. Swimmers should be attending to further develop their learning in the sport and showcase their training. Your swimmers put a lot of hard work into practice every week and it's important they take the skills they've learned and use them in their racing. Although your child may be nervous it's important for them to attend this meet and gain the experience and what better place than the pool they train at!
What does my swimmer bring?
Team suit, cap, goggles, towels, water, Team gear ex. shirt, hoodie.
