Sungod Swim Club Take Second Place at Kamloops Classics TRU Wolfpack Invitational

It was a great weekend of racing at the Kamloops Classics TRU Wolfpack Invitational.  The club travelled 40 athletes up to Kamloops to compete over the course of the three day event.  There were new club club records, new personal bests, some top 16 swims and a whole slew of new qualifiers.

Congratulations to the club’s new Vancouver-Fraser Valley Divisional qualifiers.  These new standards allow them to race at the Vancouver-Fraser Valley Divisional Championships in Langley on June 23-25 weekend:

BC Provincial Championships will be held at UBC Aquatic Centre on July 13-16^th weekend.

New Western Canadian Championship qualifier was Madelyn Paredes Troughton in the 50 breaststroke. 

Swimmers achieving 100% personal best times with no missed swims or disqualifications were:

Club records were broken by Gabrielle Wang in the 11-12 Girls Long Course 50 Breaststroke.  Gurshaan Sangha in the Boys 13-14 Long Course 200 Breaststroke.  Daniel Wang broke the club’s 15 & Over Boys Long Course 50 Breaststroke.  Rebecca Soroke broke her own club record in the Girls 13-14 Long Course 50 Butterfly.   

The girls squad broke the 11-12, 13-14 and 15 and over Medley Relay Club records.  What a great showing from all 12 athletes.  Congratulations to Avery Goksel, Gabrielle Wang, Emma Zhang, and Kaia Hall who swam the girls 11-12 Medley Relay.  Grace Bruneau, Madelyn Paredes Troughton, Rebecca Soroke, and Noelle Evans broke the 13-14 Girls Medley Relay record.   The girls 15 & Over team was comprised of Chloe Meredith Jensen, Kayah Apanowicz, Rebecca Soroke, and Grace Bruneau.
