May swimmer of the month

June 17, 2024

Hello and goodbye to the month of May. It was gone in a flash but we loved seeing you all swim at Westcoast open, our own hosted 10&under meet and seeing Rebecca represent our club at the Olympic and Paralympic trials!

The coaches are excited to announce.....

Swimmer of the month for May

Learn to compete: Sammie Lee

A major focus for the learn to compete groups in may was to improve all things butterfly. Sammie has been working hard to increase her speed while also keeping good technique. Congratulations on the hard work and fast swimming you've done in the month of may!

Novice: Shashankh Gumballi

Shashankh has been putting in a lot of effort during practices and is really impressing his coach with his work ethic. He is always focused during practice and is always aware of what is being worked on

Regional: Siddarth Gumballi

Sid’s effort and commitment to swimming during the month of May was amazing. Whether dryland or work in the pool, Sid always puts in effort to better himself.

Junior Blue & White: Ganeev Purba

This month the Junior: Blue group has been focusing on “swimming away the fear of fly”.  They spent a week of doing 1km fly warmups and they crushed it!  The biggest changer in their fly was Ganeev.  She has become a fly machine!

We are extremely proud of the diligence and thought that Ganeev Purba has put into her fly technique changes, as well as the hard work she has done on all of her fly sets.

Congratulations to the Junior group’s SOM for May.

Senior White: Puneet Kaur Khaira

Puneet has consistently given her best effort in every set and every practice given to her! She takes on coaches feedback and applies it to her training. She shows up to practice ready to work hard but also ready to have fun, which is what it’s all about at the end of the day!

Congratulations Puneet!
