June Swimmer of the month

July 2, 2024

That's a wrap on the month of June and our 2023/2024 season! Swimmers traveled to kamloops to race a 3 day heats and finals meet, swam at watermania in the final mini meet of the season, represented DSSC at the Mel Zajac International meet, Swam for pancakes at our final fun meet of the season, and had the juniors swim an impressive time trial in our home pool. Thanks to everyone for your hard work, dedication and support this month and all season!

The coaches are excited to announce.....

Swimmer of the month for June

Learn to compete: Carston Steer

Carston has a great month to complete the season. His continued hard work allowed him to achieve a 21 second personal best in the 100 IM! Congratulations on your achievement!

Novice: Kaiyo Wang

Kaiyo has worked hard during the month of June to improve his effort in practice. All his hard work in practice has resulted in several best times during the Kamloops Swim meet and the Year end Fun meet.

Regional: Armaan Sanghadia

Armaan was able to achieve his LMR qualifying time of 4:00 in the 200m IM, during the year end Fun meet. This qualifying time means Armaan is now able to participate in LMR level swim meets starting next season!

Junior Blue & White: Kairae Wang

Swimmer of the Month for the Junior groups was measured strictly in technical improvement from week 1 of practice, all the way to week 42.

Kairae Wang has made huge improvements in the way he swims this season.   His focus on the way he swims in practice, and the skills that he applies during his work sets has been phenomenal.   As a result, his stroke efficiencies have improved and it has made swimming longer distances much easier.

The coaching staff is extremely pleased with the changes we have seen from Kairae and we know that he will achieve the goals he’s set out for himself soon!

Congratulations on all your hard work this season

Senior White: Riya Kang

Riya Kang always shows up to practice ready to work! She has made significant technical improvements in the last month, always showing up to practice ready to work hard. She has not let any practice get to her, she always gives her best, honest effort to everything she does and has a smile on her face while doing it. Congratulations!
