April Swimmer of the month
April was a month of racing, racing and more racing! We saw swimmers goes to the mini meet, pass meet, fun meet, Chilliwack distance meet and our own hosted swim-a-thon. Thanks to everyone for all their fundraising efforts for our club!

Swimmer of the month for April
Learn to compete: PJ Kaufman
A huge congratulations to PJ for swimming at his first ever swim-a-thon! PJ was able to complete 2400m in 2 hours of swimming. He swam continuous for the first hour! The coolest part... he's only been swimming with DSSC since the beginning of April. Way to go!
Novice: Annika Steer
Annika had a great performance at our Pass meet during April. She was able to qualify for the 200m IM with a great improvement in her 100m IM. Can’t wait to see her swim the 200 and our next swim meet!
Regional: Catherine Ukken
Catherine is always focused at practice and is always working on ways to improve her strokes.
Junior Blue & White: Charlie Buchanan
The month of April is about re-focusing on current goals, or re-adjusting expectations for the second half of the season. This month’s Swimmer of the Month has done a great job in recognizing the need to change. He is starting to understand that technical changes in the pool result in faster, more efficient swimming. He is also starting to relish the challenge of going after goal times in practice. The coaching staff has seen a huge change in the way that he has approached training.
Charlie Buchanan is this month’s Junior group’s Swimmer of the Month. His 100% attendance rate at practice this month has been amazing! We are looking forward to seeing how Charlie’s new practice habits affect his racing.

Senior White: Olivia Siemens
This month we would like to recognize Olivia for her perseverance and positive mindset. Throughout the month she has always been on top of it and focused during practices. Even with her some minor injuries she has been able to manage coming to practices and trying her best each time. Congrats on achieving swimmer of the month. keep up the great work!
